Brooke Wilen was born and raised in Los Angeles, CA. Her work focuses on nature, found objects, and the beauty in life’s everyday surroundings. Brooke's work is influenced by the early fine art photographers like Ansel Adams, Imogen Cunningham, and Edward Weston. She began her photography career out of necessity, and later grew to understand that she had a gift for spotting the magic in the mundane.

Brooke took photography courses in college, but put down her camera until 2004 when she created a hand-knit clothing line. She was on a shoestring budget and couldn’t afford to hire a photographer for her look book, so she picked up her camera and used the skillset she learned in her photography classes to create the catalogues for the clothing line. Wilen continued to hone her photography skills in her next entrepreneurial endeavor, an online clothing store that featured overstock from up and coming clothing designers. It was one of the first websites of its kind, and Wilen created all the imagery for the constantly evolving website.

When the clothing line and website ran their course, Brooke realized how important photography was in her life and began taking on work as a photographer for hire. She shot music video stills, as well as product branding and lifestyle imagery for a wide variety of clients, including internationally recognized brands like Waldorf Astoria and Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf.

Brooke debuted her fine art photography prints in 2018 at Art Swagger in Los Angeles, and has sold to private collectors all over the country.
